DIVI
From immigration to integration
Breaking isolation, building networks and moving toward healing for French-speaking immigrant and refugee women.

Through the DIVI program, La Maison aims to better support French-speaking immigrant and refugee women by facilitating their integration into the community.
Why DIVI?
For French-speaking immigrant and refugee women (including war survivors), the violence they have experienced or are experiencing is a major barrier to integration. Our shelter experience shows us the many obstacles they face:
- lack of knowledge of laws and French-language services;
- fear of authorities and of losing custody of their children;
- difficulty disclosing the abuse they have suffered;
- control by their spouse or in-laws;
- limited knowledge of English.
What we offer
DIVI offers French-speaking immigrant and refugee women aged 16 and over opportunities to break their isolation, build networks, develop civic participation and move forward in their healing.
- Assessment of needs and strengths for each participant;
- Information, referrals and support, including counselling;
- Community connections to build a lasting network.
